Nintendo Buys Patents of Company That Lost Wii Fit Lawsuit

By Dr. Evelyn Thorne | January 01, 0001

The company that sued Nintendo three years ago has just had their then-disputed patents snatched up by the House of Mario. In 2010, IA Labs sued Nintendo, saying that the Wii Fit exercise rummy new app peripheral infringed on their patents. That suit got dismissed and IA was ordered rummy new app to pay Nintendo’s court defense costs. They apparently couldn’t and now Nintendo acquired those same patents in a Maryland sheriff’s sale. Nintendo’s statement on the matter follows:(new Image()).src = 'https://capi.connatix.com/tr/si?token=995c4c7d-194f-4077-b0a0-7ad466eb737c&cid=872d12ce-453b-4870-845f-955919887e1b'; cnx.cmd.push(function() { cnx({ playerId: "995c4c7d-194f-4077-b0a0-7ad466eb737c" }).render("79703296e5134c75a2db6e1b64762017"); }); https://kotaku.com/nintendo-sued-again-this-time-over-wii-fit-5517623 rummy nobel “Nintendo’s track record demonstrates that we vigorously defend patent lawsuits, like the IA Labs lawsuit, when we believe we have not infringed another party’s patent. This includes holding those who sue Nintendo responsible for the costs and expenses incurred in patent litigation,” said Richard Medway, Nintendo of America’s vice president and deputy general counsel. “Nintendo has a long history of developing innovative rummy nobel products while respecting the rummy royal intellectual property rights of others.” The video game giant has recently been on the losing side of patent litigation, too, with a recent ruling making it so they have to pay rummy royal royalties for the camera technology used in the 3DS
